Mid-century glass was made differently.
Before the widespread adoption of mass production, American glass manufacturers put more into every bottle — more silica, deeper pigments, more ornate mold work. The result was thicker walls, richer hues, and more complex forms than anything manufactured today. That glass was designed to last. Most of it did.
Brooklyn Sea Glass recovers what's left. We hand-collect genuine sea glass from New York City's historic shorelines — beaches where glass discarded before 1950 has been shaped and frosted by the Atlantic for decades. We also work with recovered vintage bottles and mid-century plate glass, tumbling it in Brooklyn to the same smooth, luminous finish. Every source is vintage. Nothing is manufactured new.
The result is material with real provenance. Sea glass for jewelry, statement mosaics, and resin art. Vintage bottles for Neo Deco tablescapes, Botanical shelf arrangements, and Dark Academia interiors. All of it hand-sorted by color and size, packed carefully in Brooklyn, and shipped to collectors, crafters, and decorators across the country.
Quality comes first. Sustainability is the outcome of choosing it.
