Is this real sea glass?

Yes - depending on which product you choose. Our genuine sea glass is naturally frosted by the ocean over decades and hand-collected from NYC’s historic shorelines. Our tumbled vintage glass is made from recovered vintage sources: beach-found glass, reclaimed bottles, and mid-century glass tumbled in-house to a smooth, sea-glass-style finish. Both start as vintage glass. We never sell dyed, painted, or newly manufactured glass.

What’s the difference between genuine sea glass and tumbled vintage glass?

Genuine sea glass is ocean-tumbled - the frosting, smooth edges, and surface texture are entirely the work of the Atlantic over decades. There is no in-house processing. It’s rarer, more irregular in shape, and the preferred choice for jewelry and collector displays where each piece’s individual character matters. 

Tumbled vintage glass starts with recovered vintage material and is tumbled in-house to a similar finish. It’s more uniform, more consistently available, and ideal for bulk craft projects, mosaics, and event decor.
