Hennessy was established in Cognac, France in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy and has been one of the world's most recognized cognac producers ever since. This bottle bears the JAS HENNESSY & CO. COGNAC embossing on the base alongside BOTTLE MADE IN FRANCE and a 1938 production date — making it one of the more precisely dateable pieces in the Brooklyn Sea Glass inventory. The apple green glass and iconic arm-and-axe Hennessy crest embossed on the body are immediately recognizable to cognac collectors.
Embossing: JAS HENNESSY & CO. COGNAC on the base; arm-and-axe crest on the body; FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE; BOTTLE MADE IN FRANCE 1938.

A strong piece for cognac collectors, French spirits enthusiasts, and bar cart displays. The 1938 production date and Made in France marking are the key provenance details. The apple green glass is distinctive against the amber that dominates most spirits collections.
