Chivas Brothers has been distilling in Aberdeen, Scotland since 1801 and continues today as Chivas Regal, which makes this bottle a direct, still-recognizable link to that history. Recovered from historic NYC shorelines after decades in the ocean, the olive glass has taken on a soft, silvery frosting that catches natural light with real depth — a finish that can't be manufactured or applied, only earned through years underwater. The Federal Law embossing dates the bottle precisely to the mid-century American market.
Embossing: FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE — required on all US liquor bottles between 1935 and 1964 under the Federal Alcohol Administration Act — alongside CHIVAS BROTHERS LTD ABERDEEN SCOTLAND, with 50 UGB on the base.
Condition is excellent, with genuine sea-worn patina throughout. No chips or cracks.
Dimensions: 8.25" H × 3.75" W | Olive frosted glass | Excellent sea-worn condition
The olive glass and frosted surface suit a Neo Deco or Dark Academia bar shelf — brass accents, leather-bound books, low light — as easily as a bud vase for tall dried grasses.
Recovered from New York City's historic shorelines and landfill sites by Brooklyn Sea Glass. Ships carefully packed.
