Martell Bottle – 1940s Frosted Green Glass Made in France

Martell is one of the oldest cognac houses in France, established in Cognac in 1715 — predating Hennessy by fifty years and making it one of the founding names in the French spirits trade. The frosted green glass on this bottle is unusual: most mid-century cognac bottles used clear or amber glass, making frosted green a distinctive and uncommon finish for American market imports. The Federal Law embossing confirms American market distribution post-Repeal, and the Made in France marking establishes the bottle’s French production origin.
