Bacardi has been bottling rum since the 1860s, and this particular bottle spent an unknown span of decades in the ocean before being recovered from a New York City beach — long enough for natural tumbling against sand and current to rework the entire surface into a frosted, matte finish closer to sea glass than spirits packaging. The Bacardi embossing survives clearly enough to read through that patina, which is what gives the piece its dual appeal to both spirits-history collectors and sea glass collectors.
Embossing: BACARDI visible through the sea-worn surface, along with faint traces of additional maker's text obscured by the patina.
Condition is good, with genuine sea-worn patina throughout. Minor chips along the edges, visible in photos, are part of that same ocean-worn record.
Dimensions: 10.75" H × 3.10" W | Frosted glass | Good sea-worn condition
Well suited to a windowsill where light catches the frosted surface, or grouped with other sea-worn pieces on a coastal-leaning shelf.
Recovered from New York City's historic shorelines and landfill sites by Brooklyn Sea Glass. Ships carefully packed.
