Polymol was an early twentieth-century New York grooming product distributed by Farenga Co., Inc., bottled in the aqua-tinted glass characteristic of early American glass formulas before they were phased out mid-century. Most bottles from this era don't survive decades submerged intact — this one did, and the aqua glass now carries a heavy, matte, frosted surface throughout, the same texture as genuine sea glass, deepened until the color seems to glow rather than simply show through.
Embossing: POLYMOL / HAIR DRESSING / FARENGA CO. INC / NEW YORK on the body, with 8 OUNCES stamped on the base.
Condition is good, sea-worn throughout with full frosted patina. A minor chip at the mouth is visible in photos.
Dimensions: 7.25" H × 2.5" W × 1.75" D | 9.2 oz | Aqua frosted glass | Good sea-worn condition
Reads well on a beach-house or coastal shelf alongside driftwood and linen, or as a bud vase for a single dried stem where the embossed New York provenance gives it a bit of a story most bottles don't carry.
Recovered from New York City's historic shorelines and landfill sites by Brooklyn Sea Glass. Ships carefully packed.
