This Polymol Hair Dressing bottle carries a genuine sea-worn patina that the ocean — and only the ocean — can create. Frosted, luminous, and completely irreplicable. Most bottles don't survive decades in the ocean intact. This one did.
The glass carries a heavy frosted surface throughout — the same matte, tactile texture as genuine sea glass, softened and deepened by the water until the aqua color seems to glow from within. No factory process replicates it.
Embossed front: POLYMOL / HAIR DRESSING / FARENGA CO. INC / NEW YORK. Bottom marked 8 OUNCES. Polymol was an early 20th century New York grooming product distributed locally by Farenga Co., Inc. The aqua glass color — a signature of early American glassmaking — disappeared from production as glass formulas modernized. This bottle is from that era.
Style it as:
▪ Beach house shelf styling — a natural fit alongside driftwood, linen, and coastal ceramics
▪ Grandmacore or dark cottagecore display with dried herbs, stoneware, and woven textiles
▪ Collector piece for antique grooming, apothecary, or NYC history enthusiasts
▪ Bud vase for tall dried grasses, pampas, eucalyptus, or a single stem
▪ Conversation piece — the embossed New York provenance gives it a story most bottles don't have
Condition: Sea-worn throughout with full frosted patina. Minor chip on the mouth — visible in photos and part of its ocean story.
Hand-recovered from historic NYC shorelines where early 20th century glass has rested for decades. By choosing Brooklyn Sea Glass, you're giving a genuine vintage artifact a second intentional life.
