Grandview Dairy Inc. delivered milk across Brooklyn in the mid-20th century, back when glass bottles were picked up empty from the stoop and refilled the next morning. This half-pint bottle dates to around 1951, based on the maker's code pressed into its base.
Embossing: GRANDVIEW DAIRY INC. BROOKLYN, NY HALF PINT LIQUID on the front; SEALED on the back; 51 DEPOSIT DURAGLAS on the base. The Duraglas mark points to Owens-Illinois's mid-century glassmaking process, and the deposit notation reflects the return system that kept dairy bottles circulating for years.
The bottle is in good vintage condition with only regular age-appropriate wear and no chips or cracks. The embossing is sharp and easy to read across the front and base.
