Dan-Dee was a major Northeast American snack food brand founded in Cleveland in 1930 and distributed heavily across the New York metropolitan area through the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, known primarily for potato chips and packaged snacks that were a fixture on deli counters and corner store shelves across Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. This wide-mouth clear glass jar carried Dan-Dee product for retail display — the embossed name on both faces making the brand legible from either side of the shelf. Commercial glass jars of this era were often reused as household containers after purchase, circulating through kitchens and pantries long after the original contents were gone.
Embossing: DAN-DEE on the front face; DAN-DEE repeated on the reverse face. The dual-face embossing is characteristic of retail display glass designed to be read from both directions.
Condition is very good with minor surface scratches consistent with age. No chips or cracks. Clean clear glass throughout.
