Chivas Brothers Ltd operated out of Aberdeen, Scotland, and this bottle is a substantial example of the brand's mid-century glass packaging in a light olive green.
The bottle is embossed CHIVAS BROTHERS LTD ABERDEEN SCOTLAND, along with FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR REUSE OF THIS BOTTLE, common language on mid-century bottles intended for single use. The base carries a GBC 101 mark.
Color note: this bottle has most likely lightened from sun exposure, so it reads as a light olive green rather than the deeper green this style usually has.
Condition is good, with regular wear, minor scratches, and light hazing consistent with age. All embossed lettering remains fully legible, and there are no chips or cracks.
Dimensions: 8.25" H × 3.75" W | Light olive green glass | Good condition | Embossed lettering throughout
Its substantial size and soft olive color make it a strong anchor piece for a bar cart, sideboard, or grouped display of green glass.
Recovered from New York City's historic shorelines and landfill sites by Brooklyn Sea Glass. Ships carefully packed.
