Burma-Shave built one of the most recognizable brands in American advertising history with its rhyming roadside signs, and this ribbed glass jar once held the brushless shaving cream that made the company famous. It was produced by the Burma-Vita Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Embossing: Burma-Shave logo on the front; BURMA VITA COMPANY MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. MADE IN USA on the base. The compact, ribbed-textured form was typical of mid-century grooming packaging, sized for a bathroom shelf or medicine cabinet.
The jar shows minor scratches with regular wear and no chips or cracks. Embossing is sharp and fully legible on both the front and the base.
Dimensions: 3.4" H × 3.6" W | Clear ribbed glass | Minor scratches, regular wear | Embossed front and base
Its small scale, ribbed texture, and Americana history make it a natural fit for a vintage apothecary or bathroom shelf styling, grouped with other textured glass jars for a collected-over-time look. It also works well as a small vanity catch-all.
Recovered from New York City's historic shorelines and landfill sites by Brooklyn Sea Glass. Ships carefully packed.
